Teen and man charged after alleged attempted robbery, Coffs Harbour

Two males have been refused bail after a pedestrian was allegedly told to hand over his shoes in a drive-by incident at Coffs Harbour. What is known so far.

Two males have been refused bail after a pedestrian was allegedly told to hand over his shoes in a drive-by incident at Coffs Harbour.

Police were called to the intersection of Philip and Prince streets, Coffs Harbour, about 4pm on Wednesday, following reports of an attempted robbery.

A 20-year-old man was walking along Prince St when a silver Holden Commodore pulled up alongside him, officers were told.

The passengers in the car demanded the man’s shoes, before firing a shot in his direction and fleeing the scene, police will allege in court.

Officers from the Coffs/Clarence Police District established a crime scene which was forensically examined.

Detectives found the Commodore at a property where they also allegedly located a firearm, ammunition, electronic devices and cannabis.

A 17-year-old boy and a 29-year-old man were arrested and taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station.

The boy was charged with assault with intent rob while armed with dangerous weapon and will appear at children’s court on Tuesday.

The man was charged with accessory after the fact to an attempted assault with intent rob while armed with dangerous weapon and will appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court on Tuesday.
