Police seize weapons, drugs in raids at Woolgoolga, Safety Beach

Investigators launched a series of simultaneous search warrants at properties north of Coffs Harbour and in western Sydney - and now four more people are before the courts. How the police operation unfolded.

Four people have been charged over the alleged supply of illicit drugs on the Mid-North Coast after a series of police raids at Woolgoolga, Safety Beach and in western Sydney.

In September, detectives attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District established Strike Force Coble to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in the Woolgoolga area.

In recent weeks police have charged eight people – aged between 28 and 45 – with drug offences. They remain before the courts.

At 10am on Thursday, police executed simultaneous search warrants at three homes - in Woolgoolga, Safety Beach and Horsley Park.

At Woolgoolga, officers seized 12 grams of cocaine, 50g of cannabis, cash, four firearms and assorted ammunition.

The occupants, two men aged 39 and 55, were arrested.

The younger man was charged with 25 offences including 23 counts of supply prohibited drug, supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, and receive property-theft - serious indictable offence.

The older man was charged with four counts of supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug, holder of Category A or B licence not have approved storage, and dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception.

At Safety Beach, police seized 150g of cannabis, a prohibited weapon and electronic devices.

The occupant, a 48-year-old woman, was arrested and charged with five counts of supply prohibited drug, two counts of receive property-theft, possess prohibited drug, and possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.

At Horsley Park in Sydney, police seized equipment used in the manufacture of prohibited drugs and one kilogram of cocaine.

The occupant, a 47-year-old man, was arrested and charged with eight counts of supply prohibited drug and receive property-theft - serious indictable offence.

They were all refused bail to appear at Coffs Harbour and Fairfield Local Courts.
