Nambucca Heads: Lisa Cummings trial date set in Mark Myers murder case

A woman accused of murdering a man allegedly found in a surfboard bag by the side of the road, has dialled into court from a forensics hospital as her Supreme Court trial date was set.

The body of a 62-year-old man, Mark Myers, was discovered on a remote rural property driveway and police will allege it was dumped there in a surfboard bag.

The body of Mr Myers was found in a surfboard bag dumped on a remote driveway in Darkwood, near Bellingen, 67km south-west of Coffs Harbour on August 22 last year.

Cummings’ voice was heard in court via a phone dial-in while she remained in custody at a forensics hospital.

Alleged murderer Lisa Marie Cummings and her landlord and lover and Mark Myers, 62.

During the brief court appearance in Coffs Harbour Local Court on Tuesday the gruesome case showed signs of progressing, with police tendering a case conference certificate.

Magistrate Theresa Hamilton dealt with the matter swiftly and set a trial date for the Supreme Court in Sydney on August 1.

Police will allege Cummings murdered Mr Meyers at a Loftus St, Nambucca Heads property and his body was then transported to a remote Darkwood residence in the Thora Valley.

Cummings remains in custody.
