Police, ambulance called to Dundurrabin assault, man taken to Coffs hospital

A man in his 50s has been rushed to hospital with serious head and abdominal injuries after police were called to reports of an assault in a village west of Coffs Harbour.

Emergency services were called to the small village of Dundurrabin, about 60km northwest of Bellingen, in the early hours of Thursday to reports of an assault.

Police and paramedics were called to Cross St, near the intersection with Armidale Road, just after 3am.

A police spokeswoman said the man had sustained head and abdominal injuries.

“It’s understood his injuries are not life-threatening,” the spokeswoman said.

An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the man’s injuries.
