Coffs Harbour ambulance officers and police kept busy on NYE
Police have released more details about the alleged brawl at the McDonald’s car park at Park Beach where four people were treated for injuries to the face and arms.

New Year’s Eve lived up to its reputation of being one of the busiest nights of the year for NSW Paramedics with several incidents across the Coffs Coast.
In one of the more serious incidents, paramedics were called to reports a man had been glassed at Woolgoolga.
Around 1.30am on New Year’s Day a crew was called to Beach Street at Woolgoolga.
Paramedics found a man in his 20s in the beach reserve area with deep lacerations to his face and back.
He was transported to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital in a stable condition.
Also in the early hours of New Year’s Day paramedics and police were called to the Coast Hotel to reports a young man had been hit in the head and knocked out.
Two paramedic crews attended and found the man conscious but he refused to be transported to hospital.
A NSW Police spokesperson confirmed that about 12.45am officers attended following reports of an assault.
“A 19-year-old man alleges he was assaulted while out the front of the hotel.
“He had no visible injuries and did not wish to provide a statement to police about the matter.”
Brawl at McDonald’s
Crews were called to the McDonald’s carpark at Park Beach to reports of a brawl in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
A NSW Police spokesperson said emergency services were called around 1.45am on New Year’s Day.
“Officers attached to the Coffs-Clarence Police District attended,” the spokesperson said.
“NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated four people with minor facial and arm injuries.
“An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is continuing.”
Fell at bottle shop drive through
Around 7.30pm on New Year’s Eve a man in his 60s fell and hit his head at the Liquorland drive through at Coffs Harbour.
The man was bleeding from the head and assessed at the scene.
He was later transported to Coffs Harbour Health Campus in a stable condition.
A few hours later paramedics were called to another fall.
This time at Sandcastles Holiday Apartments where a man fell at ground level around 10.40pm and sustained lacerations to his nose.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to the Coffs Harbour Health Campus.
The NSW Ambulance service is running a public awareness campaign to remind people to ‘save 000 for saving lives’.
