Berry picker bus and car crash on Bucca Road, Nana Glen near Coffs Harbour

Five people were taken from the tangled wreckage and rushed to Coffs Harbour hospital after the high speed smash west of Coffs Harbour.

A bus carrying berry pickers and a car collided at high speed on Monday afternoon west of Coffs Harbour.

The accident occurred around 4 o’clock on August 15 on Bucca Road near Nana Glen.

Emergency services including six ambulances attended.

A teenager was trapped in the wreckage for over an hour and was eventually taken to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital with leg and pelvis injuries.

A man aged in his 30s was taken to hospital with back pain and a woman in her 40s also taken to Coffs Harbour hospital with leg injuries.

Two more patients were taken to hospital but the NSW Ambulance service was unable to provide further details about their injuries.

Others were treated at the scene for various cuts and abrasions.

There are many blueberry farms in the area with pickers bussed to work each day.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
