A Northern Rivers woman has faced court after police found ketamine, MDMA, cannabis and cash stashed in a car at Splendour in the Grass music festival at North Byron Parklands.
Brittany Kelly appeared in Byron Bay Local Court on Monday.
She pleaded guilty to possessing an illegal drug and two counts of supplying an illegal drug, as well as recklessly dealing with the proceeds of crime.
The 23-year-old pleaded not guilty to being charged with having a weapon – knuckle dusters.
On July 22, Tweed-Byron Police received information about illegal drugs in a car at the festival, court documents state.
Officers attended a campsite, searched a car and found the drugs and money about 8.30pm.
The car contained 12 grams of cannabis, 32g of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), 8.9g of ketamine and $6550 cash.
Kelly’s offending included “the supply of numerous drugs and the possession of a large amount of cash associated with the sale of those drugs”, police state.
The 21st annual Splendour in the Grass festival was held between Friday, July 21 and Sunday, July 23.
Kelly faced the court with no prior criminal history.
She has been granted bail to face the court again on August 28.
NSW Police state that tackling illicit drug use and supply, anti-social behaviour and alcohol-fuelled violence were priorities at the festival.
Police handed out 42 court attendance notices, 36 criminal infringement notices and 31 cannabis cautions.
