A 43-year-old Victorian man has been charged with sexually touching three teenage girls without consent at this year’s Splendour in the Grass music festival at Byron Bay.
Steven Ray Meredith has not yet entered pleas to allegations before Byron Bay Local Court.
It’s alleged he touched the girls aged between 16 and 18 at North Byron Parklands between 8pm and 9pm on July 23, court documents state.
The 21st annual Splendour in the Grass was held between Friday, July 21 and Sunday, July 23.
Police allege in documents: “All the victims are unknown to each other … they all provided statements.”
Meredith remains on conditional bail and his case has been adjourned to October 9.
Police were targeting anti-social behaviour, illicit drug use and supply and alcohol-fuelled during a blitz at the festival, which resulted in 42 court attendance notices, 36 criminal infringement notices and 31 cannabis cautions.
