More artists have been added to the Byron Music Festival line up.

The brand new Byron Bay festival will be held at Dening Park near Main Beach in Byron Bay on Saturday, June 19.

“We’re psyched to be welcoming a bunch of new acts to the BMF main event, as well as an additional free event happening across the road,” festival organisers said in a statement on social media.

They said the free event, at the Byron Beach Hotel, would feature “a big local line up”.

“The Beachy Stage will be running simultaneously to the main event and will continue later into the evening,” they said.

“Thanks to our partners (the Beach Hotel) for supporting local live music and helping us make this happen.”

Lemaire, Jerome Williams, Goons of Doom and Baby Mughead are among the artists listed for the free Beach Hotel Event.

Nidala, Sophie Ozard, Remedi, Guy Kachel and KZ Byron are some of the new line up announcements for the main festival.

Byron Music Festival is an all ages event, with street food and markets.

The line up has a heavy focus on local artists, including Kimmy who has “a reputation of uplifting high energy performances with bountiful positive vibrations”, local band The Buckleys and The Jezabels frontwoman Hayley Mary, also from Byron Bay.

Organisers also shed light on the work of Nidala, an Aboriginal singer-songwriter from Kimberley in Queensland but living in Byron Bay.

“She represents the Djugun people with her sweet sounds that blend blues, indie rock and soul,” organisers said in a post.

“She describes her music as an anthem for open hearts and raised fists.

“She mixes strong emotive vocals with low-fi instrumentation to create a laid back atmosphere through her stripped back live feel tracks.”
