Akira Chee, 16, was missing from Pottsville on the NSW North Coast but has been located

Police have thanked the public for their help after they appealed for assistance to find the teen, who had been missing for a week.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a Akira Chee, 16, reported missing from Pottsville.

Police have appealed for help to find a teenager who has been missing on the New South Wales North Coast for a week.

UPDATE: 10.30pm, Friday June 4:

A teenaged boy who was missing for a week from the NSW North Coast has been located.

Tweed Byron Police District previously issued a statement appealing for help to find Akira Chee, 16, from the Tweed Coast.

They have since reported the boy has been found.

"Thank you to the assistance of police and community, the 16-year-old male from Pottsville has been located," they said in a statement. 

Earlier: 

Akira Chee, 16, last seen on Thursday, May 27, has been reported missing from Pottsville.

Tweed Byron Police District have been investigating and have appealed for public assistance.

In a post on social media, police suggested Akira could be between Kingscliff and Byron Bay.

“Family members have been unable to locate the missing person and are seeking police and community assistance to locate him,” police said in a statement.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a Akira Chee, 16, reported missing from Pottsville.

“The missing person is described as being male, caucasian appearance, about 160cm tall, thin build, with brown hair.

“He was last seen wearing black pants, black jumper and black shoes.

“Police and family hold concerns for his welfare.”
