YAHOO, I'm off to buy a couple of tickets in the $US1.9 billion, $A2.5 billion US Powerball draw.

Actually, I'm not that stupid. Why do people forever chase the impossible? It's called greed.

The chance of winning in this draw is 292.2 million to one.

Yes, just one chance in 292.2 million. Just one will win, the rest are losers.

Canadians are rushing to the US to get tickets. Some queues are hundreds deep and taking hours to get a ticket.

WHY DO YOU BUY LOTTO TICKETS?

DO YOU PLAN WHAT YOU WOULD SPEND YOUR WINNINGS ON?

What would anyone do with such an obscene win?

The world is greedy and crazy while the rest strives to survive with starvation and poverty.

Just one more thought. There are people who, rain, hail or shine, get their local lotto tickets each and every week, before bills, food and all else.

Say they spend $15 every week, that is 50 weeks by $15 for the 20 years they have been chasing the big one without success, equals $15,000 plus the compound interest they have missed, which would make it more than $20,000.

Add the time and fuel, that's even more.

Plus they are always dead broke, bills are unpaid, clothes, household items are old and neglected and the car misses its service.

Sound familiar? It's the life of millions of families. Be it lotto, horses or other ways to gamble.

Be wise, learn to say no and then you'll have a win every week.
