One of the Northern Rivers’ most highly regarded coffee plantations, Kahawa Estate Coffee, is on the market.

Sprawled over almost 9ha at Teven in the Ballina Shire hinterland, this “magnificent” property is listed for sale for $2.7 million.

Jos and Wendy Webber have owned Kahawa since 2003 and have turned the brand into a coffee lover’s dream.

“We will miss it terribly,” Mrs Webber told BeanScene.

“It’s been an extraordinary journey.

“We feel so satisfied with what we’ve been able to achieve, and we really hope someone will enjoy the same thrills of this farming coffee as we have.”

Marketing agent Alli Page from GNF Real Estate Bangalow said Kahawa Estate was an impressive slice of the Northern Rivers.

“This is not just a magnificent lifestyle property, it also has proven farming capacity and primary producer status,” she said.

“For the past two decades this farm has been producing award-winning coffee that is well renowned in the industry.”

The property supports a 12,000-tree coffee plantation and a water licence comes with the farm title.

Water is available from a permanent creek and there is 200,000 litres of water storage tanks.

While coffee is obviously the main drawcard at this Houghlahans Creek Road property, the home itself – situated in a dress circle address at Teven – is also a highlight.

Ms Page said the main house was constructed from Western red cedar and had four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

“An expansive covered entertaining deck overlooks a beautiful in-ground swimming pool nestled in tropical gardens, while surrounding lawns, a fruit tree orchard, flowering shrubs and formal garden beds complete this botanical oasis,” she said.

“A fully self-contained cottage – council approved – with its own entrance from the road, is set at a discreet distance away from the main house.

“This two bedroom dwelling with entertaining deck and private fenced garden, could supply a solid second income stream by way of rental, or become a stand-alone residence for extended family.”
