Court documents state the 62-year-old was driving home from the Federal Hotel, Alstonville where she had consumed three Tooheys New schooners about 4.30pm on December 1, 2023.

Shortly after, Peron performed an illegal u-turn over double solid lines and pulled out in front of a motorbike at Tamarind Dr, Tintenbar - about 11km from Ballina.

The Yamaha bike did not have time to avoid the Subaru Forester and crashed into the car. A 40-year-old man and 35-year-old woman fell off the bike and onto the road, documents continue.

The victims were taken to Lismore Base Hospital with serious lacerations to their legs. The man and woman both needed debridement surgery.

Peron returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.053. She was arrested by officers from the Richmond Police District and taken to Ballina Police Station.

The accused told police the crash was her fault and she had thought the road was clear before she turned.

At court, Peron’s lawyer Rennie Anderson requested the case be adjourned to collect further documents.

Magistrate Karen Stafford adjourned the case to February 14 for sentence.
