Police are hunting for a man who reportedly groped a teenage girl in public at northern NSW holiday hotspot Evans Head.
The man is believed to have approached the 14-year-old on the foreshore of Evans River, Elm St about 2pm on Wednesday.
He “touched her leg before walking away”, NSW Police said in a statement.
Richmond Police District launched an investigation into the incident in the town near Ballina.
Evans Head is a popular beachside destination for visitors and is permanently occupied by just a few thousand people.
The man has been described as Asian in appearance, aged between 20-30, about 170cm tall, with a medium build, black hair and acne scars. He was wearing a t-shirt and black shorts.
Police have appealed for anyone in the area at the time, or who who may have relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, to come forward.
