A Lismore woman with a heavy online presence has documented her court appearance on TikTok after she repeatedly smacked her partner in the face and destroyed a TV when he tried to stop her using their tent as a toilet.

East Lismore’s Jessica Tournier, 24, pleaded guilty at Ballina Local Court to common assault, breaching an apprehended violence order (AVO) and damaging property.

Tournier appears quite well-known in Lismore and the wider North Coast. She has an Instagram following of about 17,000, a YouTube account with more than 1000 subscribers and a TikTok account with about 6500 followers

The TikTok account includes short videos of Tournier’s Thursday court experience.

Meanwhile, the YouTube account shows Tournier and her long-term partner filming their experience living in a car travelling Australia.

On the night of the assault, the victim found Tournier to be “pretty intoxicated”, police state in court documents.

She was trying to go to the bathroom on the floor of their tent at Broadwater Sunrise Caravan Park about 7.30pm on July 12.

The man tried to stop Tournier and she became agitated.

Tournier lunged at her partner, but he pushed her away to protect himself.

“The victim tried to leave and Tournier chased him and punched him in the face multiple times,” police state.

“She began smashing the television with an electrical board, destroying the screen.”

The man fled and called police for help.

Officers later arrested Tournier and took her to Ballina Police Station, where her behaviour remained abusive – this time toward police.

“She was aggressive and abusive to police while in custody and kicked the cell door,” the documents state.

An AVO from March had a condition that Tournier could not live with the man, which was breached, the court heard.

Tournier is set to be sentenced on November 9.
