A Lismore mechanic will remain behind bars on remand as he faces a growing number of child sex abuse charges.
Luke Philip Gadsby has been accused of eight counts of aggravated sexual assault of a person under 16, as well as seven counts of aggravated indecent assault of a person under 16.
The 44-year-old man from Lismore business Gadsby Automotives has also been charged with two counts of committing indecency with a person under 16, and two counts of sexual intercourse with a person under 10, court documents show.
Gadsby has not entered pleas to any of the accusations against him.
A non-publication order on Gadsby’s name was previously sought by defence lawyer Emma Trustum-Behan, when the charges first came to light in early March.
However, Magistrate Karen Stafford rejected the application.
She said it was “in the interest of public justice” for persons charged with serious offences in open courts to be identified.
The case is due to be next mentioned at Ballina Local Court on May 1.
