Police have charged a man over a northern Gold Coast crash that claimed the life of a motorcycle rider earlier this year.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Cuthbert and Darlington drives about 9.30am on April 27 after a collision involving a Suzuki motorcycle and Nissan Pathfinder 4WD.
Five Queensland Ambulance Service crews, including a specialist High Acuity Response Unit and critical care paramedics, treated the motorbike rider, a 70-year-old Bundamba man, for serious head and chest injuries.
“That motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital, however he unfortunately passed away from his injuries,” Gold Coast Chief Superintendent Craig Hanlon said following the crash.
Following investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit, a Queensland Police Service spokesman confirmed a 22-year-old Yatala man has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death or grievous bodily harm.
He is due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on November 20.
Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
