Motorbike rider taken to hospital in critical condition after collision

A man has been taken to hospital in a critical condition after a motorbike and another vehicle collided at a Gold Coast intersection.

A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital with critical injuries after a collision with another vehicle on the Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called to the crash at the intersection of Cuthbert Drive and Darlington Drive in Yatala just after 9.30am on Saturday.

The male motorbike rider suffered serious head and chest injuries and was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

Five Queensland Ambulance Service units treated the man, including specialist High Acuity Response Unit and critical care paramedics.

Police said there were no major road closures as a result.
