White Rock power outage:
Electricity has been restored after an outage left many homes in White Rock without power for several hours.
An Ergon spokesman confirmed 1900 customers were affected since about 4am but as of 8am all of the power was restored.
“Crews were on site and were able to progressively restore a lot of those customers this morning,” he said.
“We had an issue with a piece of equipment on the network.”
Streets affected included Alabama St, Arizona Cres, Atlantic Cl, Dallas St, Denver St, Detroit St, Ferngully St, Frangipanni St, Giffin Rd, Glenrowan St, Harlequin St, Idaho Cl, Kansas Cl, Malibu Cl, Mercurio St, Paradise Cl, Phoenix St, Rafferty St, Short St, Sirens Ct, Tiffany St.
This comes as thousands of people from Cairns to Mamu lost power earlier this month due to a snake interfering with transmission equipment.
WEDNESDAY’S NEWS
Assault, Mount Sheridan
A 10-year-old White Rock boy was arrested on Tuesday night after an alleged verbal altercation that led to threats outside a Far North shopping centre.
At 6pm, a security guard outside Mount Sheridan Plaza approached the boy with another where a verbal altercation took place.
The boy then allegedly threatened the man with a pair of scissors before running off. Police were able to locate him shortly after.
He also allegedly smashed the front window of an Abbott St restaurant with an unknown object before fleeing — with two others at 11pm on Tuesday November 8.
The boy was charged with 16 offences including two counts each of common assault, stealing, enter premise with intent to commit indictable offence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, wilful damage, and one count each of attempted enter premise with intent to commit indictable offence, public nuisance, enter dwelling and commit, possess utensil, possessing dangerous drugs, possession of a knife in a public place.
He was granted police bail and will appear in the Cairns Childrens Court at a later date.

Bushfire downgraded at Seisia
Queensland Fire and Emergency have downgraded a Prepare to Leave warning to Watch and Act for Seisia near Bamaga in Cape York.
A QFE representative said people could now return to the area if they wished.
At 2:17pm QFE said the warning area was between Seisia Rd, Pajinka Back Rd and the beach.
“There is a heightened level of threat and conditions are changing,” QFE said.
“Prepare to leave and start taking protective action now.”
Barron Gorge incident
Emergency services have been called to what was believed to be a rescue after car careened off Barron Gorge Rd to the river bed below.
Paramedics were called to the road in Caravonica near the Barron Gorge hydro-electric plant at 8.40am at which stage it was unknown if occupants remained trapped in the vehicle.
In an update from Queensland Ambulance Service at 8.50am paramedics confirmed there was no occupants in the car.
Police remain at the job and a spokesman said the car crashed down the embankment last night and was discovered this morning.
The spokesman said the vehicle was not stolen and the owner was working with their insurance company to recover the vehicle.
“The owner is sorting it out with the insurance company,” the spokesman said.

The Peninsula Developmental Road is subject to a 5 Tonne GVM limit from Laura to Coen due to water over the road.
Edmonton/Gordonvale
Roadworks are being carried out on the Bruce Highway — Cairns Southern Access Corridor — Stage 3: Edmonton to Gordonvale. Delays expected (during active hours of work), with all lanes in both directions affected. The work is expected to run until June 30, 2023.
Feluga
Major intersection upgrade at East Feluga Road and Bruce Hwy. Delays are expected to August 12, 2022.
Lake Eacham
Wrights Creek Road is closed to all traffic. Motorists are advised to use an alternative route.
Ravenshoe
Roadworks have been reported at Grigg St, Ravenshoe and are expected to December 12, 2022.
Wrights Creek
Hill Road Closed permanently from the Bruce Highway to Harris Road to December 2024.
