It feels as though the last few months have been a time for being told you’re not actually cleaning anything as frequently as you should be.
Chances are, you don’t clean your sheets enough. You definitely don’t clean your washing machine enough. But now, apparently, you don’t clean your towels enough either.
Get it together!

How long do you go without washing a towel?
An Aussie woman has taken to Facebook asking other avid campers how often they’re washing their towels on the go, Yahoo Lifestyle reported.
"So hubby and I are having a discussion, we are full-time travelling, mostly off-grid," one caravanner wrote in a popular Facebook group.
"How long do you use a towel for between washing? After 12 months on the road, I still get the eye rolls when I mention washing and the reminder of how much water that uses. The mind boggles that a life necessity like washing always gets the same response."

Is there a right answer?
Commenters on the post were mixed, with some saying they wait as long as possible before washing their towels whilst travelling.
“When it smells and starts walking itself out the door,” said one commenter.
“Way longer than you think. I have dark brown towels for a reason,” another said.
Others said they wouldn’t dare go that many days, keeping washes within a week.
“four to five days...like at home”,” said one.
“2nd or 3rd day,” added another.
You can make things easier
Whilst there’s no quick fix to help you wash your towels less, some commenters suggested ways to make them dry faster. It’s the little wins!
“We’ve switched to hand towels,” one commenter suggested.
“We’re not small people but a hand towel dries us well. Didn’t think my hubby would agree but we’re both happy - been doing it since June. Living off grid they dry easily inside on travel days. Use less water to wash, dry quickly and are lighter.”
“I use a face washer to dry off in the shower. Then finish with a towel, it doesn’t get as wet!” said another.
“Sounds weird but wipe water away from body with hands before getting out of shower. Amazing how less wet towels are,” a third agreed.
Others also recommended specific towels - like microfibre and sand-free towels - for the fastest possible drying.
