'Theyre back?!': ALDI's airfryer winter favourite returns

Shoppers are obsessed with the "hidden" product, perfect for those cold nights when you just need some melted, gooey dairy...

Something about a cold winter night just makes us want to inhale a disc of breaded, fried dairy. 

Thankfully, someone at ALDI has answered our prayers by bringing back the legendary Crumbed Camembert from years gone past.

For $4.49, cheese lovers can indulge in the limited-edition Emporium Selection Camembert, covered in a crispy breadcrumb coating and accompanied by a cranberry dip, meant to be served on top.

The double pack features two rounds of creamy Camembert, which should be air-fried for a gooey center and satisfying crunch.

The "delicious" winter favourite

ALDI fans were first alerted to the news when a confused shopper took to a Facebook group to ask if they were meant to serve the item cold.

"Didn't realise you had to cook this," the customer wrote to the ALDI Mums page. 

"Will I die if I don't?" she joked. "I just want it on its own."

Ah, a newbie... yet to discover the full potential of this lactose-laden masterpiece.

Luckily, long-time fans of the budget comfort food came to the rescue and assured this poor soul that the magic happens when the cheese is melted.

"You don't want it all hot, gooey and delicious?" one person replied. 

"Just put it in the airfryer if you have one for four minutes," someone said, while another helpful commenter shared: "I have always put them in the oven at 200 degrees. I just wait till the cheese oozes out a tiny bit and they’re ready."

"It's next level delish when heated up," a fourth echoed.

"ARE THESE BACK???"

Meanwhile, most of the commenters couldn't contain their excitement about getting their baked Camembert fix again. 

"ARE THESE BACK???" one asked. "I search every week! It's been too long. It's soooo good."

Someone else said they went as far as emailing ALDI, "begging them to bring them back" and they replied saying it's a winter product only.

"OOOOOHHH YAY it's back!!" another cheered.

"I love having them in salads with balsamic vinegar, rocket and walnuts," someone else shared, while a different user said they were "a great last-minute entree when guests are over."

Someone else suggested they're great on pizza and also "delicious on a burger too."

"Tried them a few years ago and yes they are the bomb," one shopper concluded.
