'The worst I've seen': Grandma shares $300 fairy cake fail

"It was a lot harder than I thought it would be," the baker admitted.

Woman shares epic $300 fairy cake fail

We all know birthday cakes are expensive, but imagine spending $300 on one, only for it to turn out nothing like you asked for.

That's what happened to one grandma, Khrissy Joe, who ordered a three-tiered, forest fairy-themed cake for her granddaughter's first birthday.

When she got it back, let's just say it wasn't the fairytale ending she was hoping for.

Her hilarious rant, which was posted on TikTok, has racked up over five million views and shows the stark contrast between what she ordered and what she got.

"This is the worst cake I've ever seen"

In the clip, she says, "This was supposed to be my grandaughter's first birthday cake. I spent well over $200 ($309 AUD) on this cake, and this is what I got." She adds, "This is the worst cake I’ve ever seen in my life."

Instead of an intricately decorated cake, she received a lumpy and messy creation, with cracks already forming in the thickly spread icing.

There are 'dirt' crumbs scattered on the plate, messy handwriting and the whole thing looks like it's about to topple over.

It also featured fake plastic plants, instead of the edible fondant ones she had asked for.

To top it all off, "It had a piece of hair in it," she says.

According to Khrissy, she confronted the baker about it, saying she was "highly upset about it because it looks horrible."

The baker then admitted that it was "harder than she thought" it was going to be.

In a follow-up clip, Khrissy shared the inspiration photo of what she had shown the baker (below).

She also said that she ended up getting a $150 refund back.

"It looks like Play-Doh"

People wasted no time ripping on the cake in the comments, but others claimed her expectations were too high for a $300 cake.

"It looks like Play-Doh," commented one user.

"I would’ve thought I was being pranked! Looking around for a hidden camera!" wrote another.

A third joked, "NAILED IT! 😂"

"OH MY GOD, that's so bad hahahah," said someone else.

On the flip side, a different woman said, "You get what you pay for. That type of cake would have been at least twice the amount where I live."

"For the cake you wanted, it would never cost only $300. Probably $1500+" advised another.

"Your granddaughter is one, she won't even know," concluded another.
