Inside My Wardrobe
Roxy Jacenko, entrepreneur and media personality, 41, Sydney
When it comes to closets, Roxy Jacenko’s is the epitome of luxury.
Littered with collectable Birkin bags, designer blazers and colour-coded to perfection, this closet is anything but subtle.
Fusing her love of fashion and dedicated work ethic, Roxy’s daily look is stylish but efficient where outfits are easily upgraded from boardroom to cocktail event via Louboutin heels. Despite a brief love affair with blue eyeshadow and perms (I’m still searching for the photos!), Roxy’s wardrobe and style is truly inspirational.
How would you describe your personal style?
Centred around comfy, classic tailoring whilst keeping chic in the process! I’m for a classic white ‘T’, paired with my favourite blue denim and sneaker for the “off duty” look.
Who are your style icons?
The late Princess Diana, Audrey Hepburn and of course Jackie O.
What’s the oldest thing in your wardrobe?
A pair of Louboutins my mother gave me when I was 18.
What are your favourite brands?
Prada, Louis Vuitton, Vetements and Balenciaga.
What’s the most you have spent on an outfit?
Around the tens of thousands mark. I love all things designer, I know I’m investing in longevity, which warrants the price tag!
What is the most surprising thing about your wardrobe?
My wardrobe is meticulously colour-coded and organised to perfection. For me, it’s like artwork, it’s a sense of achievement to see my most coveted items stored and taken care of.
Top three wardrobe must haves?
With my newly adopted “off duty” look, I can’t pass a tailored blazer/ jacket, a crisp T-shirt, and a great pair of fitted denim jeans. This takes me from day to night, keeping me chic for my busy schedule.
What is the most sentimental item in your wardrobe?
[Husband] Oli bought me the most beautiful Christian Dior coat when we first visited Paris together.
What would you buy if money was no object?
Oh, there’s too many things. Another Birkin to the collection? Maybe a private jet to add alongside my ever growing transportation collection?
Summer or winter fashion?
Nothing surpasses a winter outfit! Cosy jackets, cashmere knits and killer boots!
Denim or dresses?
I’m all for a killer pair of jeans! It’s a staple within my wardrobe, easily transformable for all occasions. I can easily swap my Hermes sneakers for a pointed heel, transforming a day to night look.
Heels or sneakers?
Despite my shelves being full of stilettos, I’m steering towards my sneaker collection.
How many pairs of shoes do you own?
I’ve completely lost count. My ethos is to never wear the same pair of shoes twice.
Favourite fashion era?
The 80s, a decade of bold style, colour, and incredible silhouettes ... not to mention the accompanying perm and blue eyeshadow. Mum, hide the photo album!
