Inside My Wardrobe

Anna Heinrich, TV personality, 35

Any girl who wishes to be dressed top to toe in Tom Ford is a girl after my own heart!

Anna Heinrich’s wardrobe functions perfectly: good, quality basics, designer denim and a long-standing black Saba top provide the base for a street-style worthy moment.

Whether she is channelling Zendaya or Amal Clooney, Heinrich always hits the mark.

Despite listing “striped flares” as a faux pas, something tells me she pulled this look off!

How would you describe your style?

I tend to veer towards a more classic, sophisticated look. Nothing too way out. However, I’ll spice it up with bright colour or an out-there pattern.

Who are your style icons?

When I’m looking for cool girl vibes, it’s Zendaya, Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner. When I want to feel a little more polished and powerful, I’ll turn to Amal Clooney and Princess Diana.

Oldest thing in your wardrobe?

A black, sleeveless Saba top that was first bought by my mum 20 years ago. I used to wear a lot of my mum’s clothes and she gave it to me when I moved out of home. I still wear it today occasionally.

What are your favourite brands?

I tend to mainly wear Australian brands like Scanlan & Theodore, Rebecca Vallance, Viktoria & Woods, Suboo, Manning Cartell, Carla Zampatti, Oroton.

Have you ever made a style faux pas?

Have I ever and I still do today! Hound Dog was a staple in my teen years. Tight, short, shiny and probably animal print. Also, I owned what I thought was an epic pair of colourful, striped flares.

What’s the most you’ve spent on an outfit?

I actually feel quite guilty when I buy something extremely expensive. My Tom Ford bag I bought in LA (pre -Covid days) would be one of my most expensive pieces.

Most surprising thing in your wardrobe?

That I don’t have a lot of going-out pieces. I mainly have lots of basics and staples that I wear over and over again; a lot of neutrals, black and white. Also, I still have my camo army pants, boots, shirt and socks from SAS.

What would you buy if money was no object?

I would deck myself out in Tom Ford. From the shoes to perfume to make-up.

Summer or winter fashion?

I feel more stylish in winter clothing. I love that you can experiment with layering and there’s more to work with.

Denim or dresses?

Recently I bought matching denim jeans, shirt and jacket. Sounds questionable but it was from Scanlan so I knew it was a winner.

Top three wardrobe must-haves?

White shirt, face mask, timeless trench.

Most sentimental item in your wardrobe?

Anything to do with my wedding.

How many pairs of shoes do you own?

One for every day of the month but ... I only wear about three of them.
