Qantas drops epic North America and South America flight sale with fares from $999

The great 2025 flight sale glut continues: Qantas just dropped $999 flights to Hawaii and a heap of cheap flights to the rest of America. 

Whether you fancy strolling the streets of Santiago, surfing the waves in Hawaii or skiing the mountains in Vancouver, Qantas' latest sale will have you salivating. 

The airline has launched sale fares across both its North and South American networks, with thousands of discounted seats on offer for Aussies looking to hammer a few more stamps into their passports. 

Whether you're hungry for a bite of the big apple or keen to cruise the Hollywood boulevards, there's something in the sale for you

The sale starts today, and there are discounted flights from most of Australia’s capital cities to the Americas. 

Destinations include LA, New York, Dallas, San Francisco, Vancouver, Santiago and Honolulu. Sale fares are available in all cabins - from economy to business.

During peak times there are only select dates that can be booked as a sale fare (i.e. during Northern Hemisphere summer, Canadian ski season right through to the end of the January 2026 school holidays, plus throughout some of the USA’s biggest events such as Coachella), so if you're heading to America for a specific event or holiday, you might not be able to find a sale fare.

Hawaii for $999, anyone?

If you're heading to America outside these times though, there are plenty of options, with economy return sale fares starting from AUD $999 to Honolulu from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne (Qantas is launching its first-ever service to Hawaii from Melbourne on May 1).

Other enticing economy return sale fares include AUD $1,199 fares from Sydney and Melbourne to Los Angeles, AUD $1,399 fares from Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney to Vancouver and AUD $1,799 fares from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane to Santiago.

The sale also includes fares from Sydney to Dallas Fort Worth, that will operate - from August - on the Qantas A380 (one of the style of jets that was mothballed in the desert during the pandemic) for the first time since 2020.

There are flights to LA from $1,199 in the sale

Frequent flyers with Classic Plus Flight Rewards can get in on the sale action too. Though there has been much talk about points (across many airlines) being devalued in recent years, these sales remain one of the best ways to get bang for buck for your points.

Some example Classic Plus fares in the sale include Sydney to Honolulu return in Economy for 60,300 points (+ $392 in taxes, fees and carrier charges), Sydney to Los Angeles return in Economy for 80,700 points (+ $392 in taxes, fees, and carrier charges), Melbourne to San Francisco return in Premium Economy for 177,400 points (+ $639 in taxes,fees and carrier charges) and Sydney to Vancouver return in Business for 401,900 points (+ $1,271 in taxes, fees and carrier charges).

Sale fares are for travel between April 14, 2025 to January 29, 2026, and are available until 11.59pm (AEDT) Wednesday March 26, 2025 unless sold out prior.

Flights to Chile are available in the sale too

Qantas CEO International Cam Wallace said Australians love to visit the Americas and revealed that last year alone, Qantas flew over half a million customers to destinations across North and South America.

“We have included some of our most popular routes in this sale such as Santiago along with fan favourites LA and New York," he said.

"We also have return fares to Honolulu starting from under $1,000, so there’s never been a better time to book a trip to Hawaii and beyond!”

In good news for big jet lovers, the A380 is coming back!

LA Tourism said that after a challenging start to the year the city was looking forward to welcoming back Aussie visitors with its vibrant foodie scene, outdoor adventures, sports events and entertainment offerings.
