Some parents really embrace the community of the school their kid attends.
They volunteer, are at all the events, are on all the excursions, organise the coffee mornings, the class Xmas present, the playdates.
Good on them.
Then, there's Aussie mum AdhdBritt00.
You won't see her, ever.
Mostly because she won't get out of the car.

"I have one job and one job only - get my daughter"
In an utterly relatable clip, TikTok creator Britt speaks from her car - of course.
"How long have you avoided talking to other parents at school pick up?" she begins.
"I am five years strong; not one single school mum friend in five years."
And she's not sad about it.
"I will duck and weave my way through... I have one job and one job only - get my daughter and leave."
Laughing about when she's approached to be involved in the PTA, she tells them, "No! No! I don't even want to be here."
Britt explains that at pick up, she waits in her car until "the last second", then dashes out to grab her daughter, and is back again, Ninja-like.
"I don't like to plan things," she adds, speaking of the mental load of being a more involved school mum.
"That's fantastic for you, not for me. I've got enough shit going on."
Finally, she adds, as though she's reading our collective minds; "I will do my own thing. I don't want to go to a meeting and do wines and drinks.
"I promise I'm not a whinge... I just don't want to."

"Not today, Susan"
Britt's video is aptly captioned, "Not today, Susan."
Although she's obviously having a bit of a laugh at herself, viewers were concerned.
"So your kids aren't getting playdates? I'm not biggest people persons but I will for kids because I want them to have friends," one wrote.
"You're missing out, some of my best friends I met at the school gate. We help each other with our kids I honestly don’t know what I'd do without them," added another - evidently one of the lucky ones.
And a third also shared her pity, writing, "I couldn’t imagine not having that sense of community for both myself and my child."
But then, there were many others who shared Britt's feelings.
"Broooo I thought I was the only one! I’m always the only mum just standing by myself. I just go pick up my kids and go home lol," one mum said, while another confessed that avoidance was also her MO: "The darkest black sunglasses are glued to my face when I’m in the school grounds, I’m not accidentally making eye contact with nobody!"
Some shared the sad reasons that made them reluctant to socialise.
"I tried, from kindy to year 2, but the mums are very clicky, I never got (and still, never get) invited to any of their group things. So I stopped being friendly," this mum admitted. "Now, year 6, I wait away from them all, at the car, and avoid them."
Finally, Britt got more support from this viewer, whose point was blunt: "Honestly keep it that way. School mums can be so full of drama it’s not worth it."
