This little bear is perfect for when you can't choose between gifting flowers or a soft toy!

How to make a DIY flower bear

You want to give that special someone an amazing gift to let them know you’re thinking of them, and you're tossing up between flowers or a teddy bear. It’s a big decision.

Let me suggest this super cute, super cheerful combination of both!

This activity is straightforward and will not take too much time once you have all the materials you need.

What you need

  • Foam (or papier-mâché) teddy bear (can be sourced online or in craft stores)
  • 200 -400 artificial flowers (foam or other)
  • Ribbon – any colour
  • Artificial crystals (optional)
  • Black paper
  • Pencil 
  • Scissors 
  • Glue gun – low temperature

Note Adult participation is advised when using hot elements (E.g., hot glue gun).

If a foam bear is not readily available, you can cut and glue any varied bundle of foam balls into the shape of a seated teddy bear.

Activity

Glue artificial crystals to parts of a foam (or papier-mâché) teddy bear emphasising eyes, nose, inner ears, chest and paws.

Glue artificial flowers to entire teddy bear form, excluding the base, in whatever colour combination you want.

Draw and cut out paper eyelashes. Glue the eyelashes onto the crystal eyes.

Tie a ribbon into a bow and glue it to the bear’s chest.

Perfect as a gift or to adorn your nightstand or desk!
