If you don't know that school drop off and pick up is a daily sh*tshow for most parents, do you even have school-aged kids?

Anyone who's experienced the school car park/kiss and go lane at these times will be familiar with the chaos and stress of many vehicles in a cramped space - with the added desire to avoid children at all costs.

And we all know, being able to park your car so you can walk to the gate brings its own challenges... because you need to get there 30 minutes early at least to nab a spot.

Now, one mum this week has shared a new part school 'click and collect' (as one friend calls it) that's an unspoken frustration - how parents park their cars.

"School pick up in Australia be like..."

Mum Zoe posted a video of a unique aspect of school pick up that we don't often talk about - the 'selfishness' of how some parents use car spaces.

The clip is captioned, "bruh" and opens to footage of cars 'innocently' parked on the street in front of a school.

"I don't think anything annoys me more than when you turn up to the school, and people park THAT far apart."

She zooms in to demonstrate what she means; cars parked about 1.5m apart from each other.

"Why, why do you do that?" she concludes.

The implication is that the cars should park closer together to allow more parents to park.

"First in, best dressed"

Many viewers of Zoe's clip said they thought the gap was to allow other cars to move out.

"It's because some people park super close behind you and this means you can get out easily," one wrote.

"First in, best dressed," said another. "Early, you get to choose and get out easily."

Zoe responded to this, writing, "They get there before the school bell goes."

A few related to Zoe's frustration, with one saying, "People do this at footy around the footy oval... Like... the car doesn't have Covid!"

This mum also agreed: "Glad I'm not alone here! So infuriating. Especially when there's four in a row doing it."

And this mum shared, "Drives me mad."

Then there was this person who took issue with Zoe saying that nothing annoys her more: "Must have a good life if that's it."

Zoe finally wrote after hundreds of comments that also mentioned parents parking across intersections and also two spaces; "I park across the street and still leave the school before the mums who've been there since 1pm."

But this is the comment we loved the most: "I actually have no life and sit in the car park an hour earlier otherwise I can't get a park good enough to get the bub and pram out."

That's probably the moral of the tale: You do you.
