Yep, that's right! Your favourite 2010s stationery brand has branched out into womenswear. But, wait until you see the prices...

Ah, kikki.K.

When I think of kikki.K, I think first of the stationery stores that were so popular in the 2010s.

Back then, when it came to bougie stationery, we had Smiggle as the entry-level store, followed by Typo for edgy millennials and Disney adults, and then finally kikki.K - a stationery-lover’s dream, filled with clean lines and pastel colours. Fancy and professional, but not like the boring stuff you’d buy from a regular office store.

My nearest location closed over 5 years ago, but I’ve continued to shop online (what can I say, the diaries are unbeatable!). So, you can imagine my surprise when I found out that the retailer had expanded, not just into things like bags and drink bottles, but also into clothing.

Ummmm, what?!

Yep, that’s right, kikki.K now officially sells clothing.

Whilst just a few months ago if you visited their website, all you would see were a range of pens and calendars, they now have an entire womenswear line, with pieces ranging from casual sweaters to denim, button-ups for the office, and trendy slogan hats.

But, they’re not just regular clothes - they’re expensive ones.

A pair of denim jeans on the site will set you back a whopping $169, and for a cardigan? A whopping $199.

So… when did this happen?

Gorman Clothing founder Lisa Gorman became kikki.K’s creative director in 2023, making it easy for people to give her credit for the brand’s new look and direction. And, speaking to Kidspot, she confirmed that this is the case, with the brand well and truly switching gears this year in the name of comfort and convenience.

“We all know kikki.K. It’s one of Australia’s heritage brands that has stolen the hearts of stationery lovers for decades - whether you’re part of the digital age or not, there’s nostalgia around paper," she told Kidspot.

"Now, in 2025, it’s time to bring kikki.K up to speed with today’s lifestyle. We’re creating functional, fashionable pieces designed to get you through life in a cool, calm and collected manner (AKA organisational queen - at least you’ll come across that way!) through a purposeful collection of bags, clothing and of course, a refreshed range of stationery.

"My take on kikki.K apparel? You actually don’t need a lot of clothes, you just need good ones. We’re about useful, high quality, high rotation pieces that take the effort out of managing your wardrobe, because honestly how many of us have successful outfit inspo at 7am in the mornings anyway? We’re here to solve that problem.”

kikki.K collapsed twice during the pandemic, going into voluntary administration for the first time back in 2020, and then again less than 18 months later.

Could this finally be kikki.K’s time to shine again?
