'Just why???': Shock as ALDI product disappears from shelves

And, people have mixed opinions on its replacement. Have you tried them yet?

Of course, any product you love getting removed from a store’s shelves is devastating.

But, what if it was replaced with a worse, almost offensive version, left to taunt you every time you strolled through the aisle?

That has happened to one ALDI shopper, left shocked at a product’s replacement being called ‘foul’ and ‘incorrect’.

“Just why???”

An anonymous ALDI shopper has taken to the ALDI Mums Facebook after spotting an unusual product in place of a personal favourite.

“🤷‍♀️Just why??? 🤢” the post began.

“And they’ve discontinue the Vietnamese ones!?!?

“Hoping those that also loved the Vietnamese style will also call Aldi and ask them to revisit their ludicrous choices on this!”

The specific product is World Kitchen’s Cheeseburger Spring Rolls, compared to the brand’s Vietnamese Style Spring Rolls.

In the comments, the poster added that it wasn’t just the taste they were mad at.

“Seriously why would anyone put western food into eastern food? Soooo incorrect!” they said.

Opinions are mixed

It seems as though a lot of people are in the same boat, saying they’re just as disappointed as the poster.

“These are horrible,” said one commenter.

“Oh no, I bought these, not realising they're cheeseburger flavour,” said another.

“These are foul,” a third said.

“Loved the Vietnam ones, don't like these ones at all,” said another.

“I had these a few weeks ago didn’t realise it was cheeseburger until this post lol I ate it and looked at it like 🥴🤨🤢” another person said.

“I was so excited to try these and my whole family agreed they were disgusting lol,” said another.

But, others said they love the Cheeseburger option.

“Wow I love these ones,” one commenter said.

“These are the best!!” said another.

“Yummmo😆” a third agreed.

“I actually really like them. 👍” another commenter said.

Will we see them back on shelves?

Many commenters on the post said the products rotated on the shelves, with only one or the other offered at any given time.

“They seem to rotate them around. One of the other available at a time. They should come back,” one commenter said.

“they are seasonal,” said another.

“They are seasonal. So half the year we have the vietnamese & the other half the cheeseburger. I also don’t like the cheeseburger flavour,” a third agreed.

“They seem to go back and forth with the two flavours. Vietnamese are our fav too. Although, I’ve noticed the cheeseburger ones have now been on the shelf a lot longer than usual. I hope that doesn’t mean they are permanent. I also don’t like these 😩” a fourth added.

But, with the Vietnamese ones not appearing recently, some shoppers are worried - particularly after an employee suggested they were discontinued.

So, the poster is asking everyone to do what they can to bring them back.

“I just asked the manager and she said they were discontinued, but in her experience if enough people inform HO they do bring items back. 🤞” they said.
