After kicking her $300-a-week Uber Eats habit, radio star Jackie O Henderson has unveiled her new look after losing 10kg.

The KIIS FM radio host previously revealed she had put on “a lot of weight” during the pandemic, describing herself as “the biggest she’s ever been”.

While stuck at home, she turned to take-out to help brighten her days, ordering around $300 of Uber Eats a week on burgers to Mexican food.

She also loved to snack on salty seaweed crackers, notably asking to be edited out of an episode of The Masked Singer in August 2020, blaming the savoury item for leaving her “looking very bloated” and feeling uncomfortable in her appearance.

But in June, the 46-year-old decided to take control of her lockdown eating habits, becoming an ambassador for WW.

The healthy lifestyle program, formerly known as Weight Watchers, follows a “Smartpoints” system that assigns different foods “points” based on their calories, saturated fat, sugar, and protein.

Jackie said using it has helped her gain a better understanding of nutrition – and she’s lost 10kg in the process.

“It’s just having that knowledge of knowing what to buy and what not to buy,” she told news.com.au.

“I’ve obviously made mistakes and thought something was healthy when it wasn’t, for example not knowing what’s in the beef patty compared to the lean beef patty.

“It’s really simple things like that. This is the stuff I have educated myself on and that’s why I feel WW is a lot more sustainable than anything I have ever done in the past.”

One of the other most valuable lessons Jackie, a mum of one, said she has learnt is that you can still have the foods you crave – including convenient take-out meals.

“It’s not to say we still don’t get Uber Eats. Obviously I’ll order food for my daughter Kitty when she wants something, but it’s not like how I used to order.

“The amount of money I have saved too.”

Now Jackie cooks most meals for her and 10-year-old Kitty, revealing she’s mastered a healthy burger that “tastes just as good as the real thing”.

The early morning starts that come with Jackie’s gig hosting the number one breakfast radio show alongside co-host Kyle Sandilands also played a part in Jackie’s old food choices.

Previously, she would overindulge in the catering at work, but now her mornings are “very different”.

“When I am only doing the radio show and I don’t have any other commitment, I'll cook my meals, whether its vegetables and fish,” she explained.

“But during periods I am working and on set I have ready made (frozen) meals to go, that are low in points.”

The WW app has a points system which tells members what the exact nutritional value of a product is, which Jackie described as “genius”.

‘I feel more confident’

Prior to her transformation, Jackie said the way she was feeling about herself had reached a point where she refused to leave her home out of fear of being judged.

“I was really hiding away for a long time because I put on so much weight and felt really self-conscious, worrying about ducking to the supermarket and people saying, ‘Oh look at Jackie, she’s stacked on the weight’,” she said at the time.

But now she revealed she’s happier within herself and says she’s ready to show off her new and confident self once lockdown lifts.

“It’s a shame we’re in lockdown because I am ready to go out and socialise. I’ve even got some new outfits I want to wear,” she laughed.

“I feel so much better now. I really do. I am so cliche. But seriously I have got a lot more energy.”

Jackie is now looking to take up tennis at her local courts and is keen to get back into HITT training.

“I love working up a sweat but I am building up to that and taking baby steps when it comes to fitness,” she said.

For now, she’s completing regular brisk walks, but urges anyone who is struggling in lockdown not to be “too hard on yourself”.

“It’s really is a mindset of ‘I’m not doing this for a six-week challenge, I am doing this for the long term’ and therefore it’s OK if you’re having a crappy day.

“I think we have just got to not punish ourselves when we have those days, especially with what we’re going through right now.”
