Masked Singer: Jackie O reveals why she was ‘barely seen’ in last night’s episode

Jackie O was hardly seen in last night’s episode of The Masked Singer, and now the radio star has revealed why she asked to be edited out.

Jackie O has revealed why she was barely seen in last night’s episode of The Masked Singer.

Jackie is a judge on the Channel 10 show alongside Dannii Minogue, Hughesy and Urzila Carlson.

But the radio star received barely any screen time last night because she was “looking very bloated” after eating 80 seaweed snacks backstage.

“I started eating a packet of seaweed snacks and then I started eating another and then another,” Jackie said on KIIS FM this morning.

The snacks, which are high in salt, caused Jackie’s body to balloon overnight.

“The next day, you wouldn’t believe it, the water retention in my body, I reckon made me put on 5kg overnight,” she said. “I’ve never seen it before.”

When Jackie arrived at the studio in Melbourne to film The Masked Singer, she tried on her dress and “freaked out”.

“I was just busting out of this thing,” she said on air today. “You couldn’t control my boobs. They’d gone up two sizes and my face was bloated. I died.”

It was too late for Jackie’s stylist to pick a different outfit and she reluctantly walked out on set to join her fellow coaches.

“Hughesy was looking at me strangely, like, ‘what the hell’s happened to you?’” Jackie recalled on air today.

When the filming of the episode had ended, the show’s editor picked up on Jackie’s discomfort and she asked him for a favour.

“I said, ‘if you could just find some flattering shots maybe, that’d be great’,” Jackie said. “Apparently there must not have been many because I don’t think I was barely seen on the show last night.”

Jackie told her KIIS FM listeners that she will still appear bloated in the next episode of The Masked Singer.

“You’ll see by next week’s episode on Monday, it’s half down and then my Tuesday it’s all gone,” she said.

Oh, and Jackie has vowed never to make the same mistake again, saying: “I’m never ever in my life going to eat a seaweed snack again.”
