Eager to get a head start on your holiday shopping? Wellness brand Goop has just dropped its annual gift guide, and boy are we intrigued.
Leave it to Gwyneth Paltrow to call the trends in wellness gifting this year, as Goop finally releases its long-awaited 2024 gift guide.
After making a particular splash last year ($620 block of cheese anyone?), fans and critics alike have been excited to see what whacky and wonderful wellness products are all the rage this holiday season.
Perhaps cognisant that not every Goop shopper has an 8,000-square-foot property to play with, the wellness guide has done its best to include a more ‘relatable’ spread this year. But by now, most shoppers stumbling into Goop territory should be more than familiar with the calibre of products that usually make this annual roundup.
While the complete list can be found here, we’ve put together a selection of the best (and most boujee) picks for those short on time. And as expected, Goop’s 2024 picks are everything we hoped for – and more.
Crave Tease Vibrator Ring, $375 from goop.com
Perhaps sensing last year’s $23,000 24k gold vibrator was a tad too far out of people’s budgets, Goop has chosen to scale down this year’s sex toy recommendation – in both price and size.
Goop’s gift guide includes this powerful bullet-shaped vibrator mounted on an interchangeable silicone ring. Perhaps the most bizarre vibrator to hit the market this year, Crave’s gold-finish ring markets itself as both a sex toy and a piece of luxury jewellery.
How do you use it exactly? Paltrow’s glowing recommendation isn’t exactly clear, but based on several reviews, the vibrator ring certainly offers its wearer an opportunity to get creative.
WTHN Body Balance Magnets, $82 from goop.com
Often criticised for endorsing products people never knew they needed, Goop’s next gift recommendation is bound to raise some eyebrows. Created by New York-based holistic wellbeing brand WTHN, these latex-free adhesive magnetic stickers are designed to stimulate traditional acupressure points all over the body.
Following the kit’s placement guide, users are encouraged to leave their magnet stickers on for up to four days (or until they fall off). If harnessing the power of acupressure isn’t enough to convince you to gift these kits, the stickers are magnetised to also incorporate the magic of magnetic fields.
Walden Salt Lamp, $375 from goop.com
It wouldn't be a Goop gift guide without a classic Himalayan salt lamp. This year, Paltrow’s team have their eyes on this chick (and in no way cheap) block from Walden.
What do salt lamps do, might you be asking? Based on the idea that an excess of positive ions in the air increases our anxiety, stress and crankiness, salt lamp enthusiasts endorse the product's ability to purify the air by attracting water molecules (and any contaminants). As a switched-on salt lamp heats up, these contaminated water molecules are said to evaporate, thereby purifying the room in which they sit.
They also look beautiful in any space.
Saunaspace FireLight Infrared Sauna, $5,870 from goop.com
If there’s one wellness trend that defines 2024, it’s our unwavering obsession with infrared saunas. But unlike other trends that only require a yoga mat or intuitive app, bringing the sauna experience to life at home is a little more complicated. Until now, that is.
Designed to be easily set up and packed down, this infrared sauna is the first of its kind, fitting discreetly into tighter spaces – perfect for those of us embracing apartment living.
Without heating up the surroundings or damaging the floor, this at-home sauna offers a range of adjustable heat settings and is designed to be used inside.
The Dust Test, $412 from thedusttest.com
While it may appear to be one of the more unconventional picks this year, Goop’s inclusion of The Dust Test’s at-home kit is one of the gift guide’s most useful present ideas.
As anyone struggling to survive Sydney’s rental market will tell you, the dwindling state of hygiene in most homes is enough to make anyone's skin crawl. After all, no amount of sage cleanses and salt lamps will protect your health from summer’s stubborn mould influx.
Identifying over 36 species of hidden mould in your home, The Dust Test uses PCR technology to detect and help eradicate any nasties, promoting a cleaner and safer environment.
Simply register a kit, follow instructions to collect samples from around your home, and ship them off to the experts using a prepaid envelope. Scientifically-proven results will be ready within two weeks.
