Rebecca Vallance cements its status as global ‘it’ fashion brand

An Australian designer whose success has exploded in recent months has just cemented her label’s status as a global ‘it’ fashion brand.

A photo of an Australian fashion designer alongside one of the most famous women in the world has cemented her company’s status as a global “it” brand.

Rebecca Vallance launched the high-end label of the same name at Paris Fashion Week back in 2011 and immediately garnered local success.

But in recent years the luxury Aussie label has taken off overseas, earning A-list celebrity fans and landing leading international retailers such as London’s famous Harrods department store.

Just recently, Zara Tindall – the granddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II – wore a sky blue Vallance design to Royal Ascot while Hollywood actress Sofia Vergara rocked a white strapless number on America’s Got Talent where she serves as a judge.

Vallance’s designs are undisputedly popular among the world’s most rich and famous, but this weekend, the brand hit cult status after Kris Jenner stepped out wearing a piece from her latest collection, a collaboration with hotel heiress Nicky Hilton Rothschild.

Jenner, 68, attended an event in LA wearing the $749 “Celia Mini Dress” to celebrate the Holiday capsule collection.

Posing for a series of snaps alongside Vallance and Hilton at the poolside event, hosted by global designer e-tailer Mytheresa, Jenner oozed confidence in the “sophisticated and chic” tailored blazer dress.

Jenner wasn’t the only megastar at the exclusive bash, with TV personality Kelly Osbourne, singer Jessie J and internet sensation Dylan Mulvaney also attending.

“It was an absolute pinch me moment and it has been so exciting to see everyone dressed in Rebecca Vallance and looking incredible,” Vallance told news.com.au.

“After working on the collection together with Nicky for such a long time, it’s amazing to see it now come to life and be worn all of these amazing women. It was a night I will honestly will never forget.”

Of course, Paris Hilton and her mum Kathy Hilton were also at the party to support Nicky’s fashion milestone.

To commemorate the evening, a selfie-style photo was taken on a staircase featuring all the celebrity guests, causing a huge fanfare on Instagram.

“Wow, what a line-up,” one declared.

“Cannot wait for Xmas,” another said, noting the festive-theme of the outfits.

As another simply stated: “So so good.”

There are 31 pieces in the new Nicky Hilton collection which Vallance described as her own designs that have been “reimagined” by the Beverly Hills princess.

“We had such fun designing this collection because we have a very similar sense of style – we were constantly bouncing ideas off each other,” she shared.

“The original idea for our collection was to create just half the number of pieces we ended up with.

“However when Nicky and I started designing we had so many ideas we couldn’t narrow it down.”

Eventually the pair whittled it down from 50 to 31 “standout” pieces, the designer explained.

“It was a challenge because we truly believed that each piece brought something special to the table, making it impossible to cut it any further.

“It has been such an amazing experience and to collaborate with a friend has truly been so special,

“It’s also the first time Rebecca Vallance [the brand] has done a collaboration.”

Since hitting shelves in stores and online last week, there has already been a huge demand for the garments, with Vallance revealing the red Leyla Long Sleeve Midi and the Valor Short Sleeve Mini in ivory, as well as the Alivia Gown have emerged as the three bestsellers.

As for Vallance’s favourite, she said that was “difficult to pick”, stating she loves each piece in the collection for different reasons.

“For an elegant timeless look, it would have to be the Gianna Midi Dress an off the shoulder moment adds that femininity to the piece.

“For the understated chic look I would have to say the Celia Mini – it is so special with the handmade pearl buttons and velvet collar – a piece that will be forever in my wardrobe.”
