Enter NSW’s best mullet competition 2021

Introducing the Mane of Origin: the search for the best mullet in the state. Do you or someone you know fit the bill? Enter our competition now.

Mullet with a perm?

The mullet, a hairstyle that refuses to go away, and for good reason – it’s iconic.

It’s as Australian as Vegemite toast and Aeroplane Jelly. It wouldn’t be outrageous to say it belongs on our Coat of Arms, or at least the $5 note.

We’ve even had the mullet represent us at the Tokyo Olympics in Rohan Browning, aka The Flying Mullet.

As the old saying goes – business in the front, party in the back – this ‘do really encapsulates the duality of man, so there’s no wonder why it has made a resurgence in recent years. From global superstar Billie Eilish to every second AFL player, mullets are everywhere.

And we love to see it!

We’re on a quest to find the fairest mullet in the land of NSW. Do you believe your mullet is your crowning glory? Do you like it permed at the back for party time? Do you prefer your mullet to be business casual? Do you rock a metrosexual mullet? What does your mullet say about you?

We want, nay need, to know.

South Australia and the Northern Territory have conducted their own star search for the mightiest mullet in their land, so now it’s time for NSW to take the torch.

Ladies, gentlemen and distinguished hairstyle fans, we need the very best to come forward and represent our state at a national level to find the best mullet under the Southern Cross.

Adelaide may think they have a chance so let’s quash that glimmer of hope by blowing them out of the water. And God forbid, don’t let Queensland take this title!

The Daily Telegraph is on the hunt for NSW’s best mullets, send us your entries via photo (locks of hair will not be accepted) and finalists will be displayed online where readers will then vote for their favourite.
