Paul Dennis Lambert, 36, who was shot dead last night, was a finance worker based in Sydney. He was on the run after stabbing Angela Jay, 28, and dousing her in petrol. They had met on Tinder eight weeks ago.

UPDATE: Police have said it was ‘almost a miracle’ the son of Sydney mother Cindy Low (pictured) escaped death on the ride in Dreamworld yesterday. The 10-year-old is said to be traumatised after watching his mother die on the Thunder River Rapids ride.
