From the mega-wealthy to celebrities and sports stars, there’s been no shortage of famous family feuds in recent years.
While sibling and family rivalries are nothing new, these stoushes are often made into a public display, with some arguments played out in the courtroom and others airing their dirty laundry over social media.
Here, Insider takes a look at some of the most memorable local and international family fights.
ROXY AND RUBY JACENKO
This feud was never going to fly under the radar.
In what turned out to be a gossip columnist’s dream, PR guru Roxy Jacenko and sister Ruby got into a physical altercation in Sydney’s Kings Cross in 2008.
Ruby allegedly punched Roxy twice in the face at The Piano Bar after being asked to leave one of her sister’s events.
It ended up in court, however Roxy asked police to withdraw the AVO lodged by police.
While their relations were frosty for many years after the altercation, the pair have since repaired their relationship.
MATTHEW AND ANDREW JOHNS
The Johns brothers have had their fair share of differences over the years, with most of their quarrels good natured.
However, it’s become clear in recent years that Andrew and Matthew Johns struggle to see eye-to-eye.
Most recently, the pair clashed on radio after Matt praised Queensland coach Billy Slater, a comment which annoyed Joey.
The brothers have previously shrugged off criticism of their ongoing and very public beef, with Matty saying the pair previously had a feud where they did not speak for two years.
SOPHIE MONK AND FAMILY
Details of the fall out between Sophie Monk and her parents are scarce.
However, there’s no denying Sophie Monk isn’t as close to her parents as she once was.
While Monk often took to social media to post about and reveal her love for her dad, Andrew, that all came to a halt when the singer met now husband Joshua Gross.
The fact Monk’s mother Sandi, Andrew and sister Lucy were MIA from the couple’s wedding was telling.
Monk had publicly admitted to a family fight in 2020 when it was revealed she blocked both her mother and sister on social media.
“Like all families, there are disagreements … I’m sure everything will work out in time,” she said at the time.
BRITNEY SPEARS AND FAMILY
Britney Spears has been having it out with her parents and sister for more than a decade.
After gaining long-awaited freedom from her 13-year conservatorship, Britney wasted no time in calling out her dad, mum and sister Jamie Lynn for the trauma they allegedly caused her for years.
While Jamie Lynn opted to tell her side of the story in a memoir, Spears has relied on social media to dish the dirt on her family.
MEGHAN AND THOMAS MARKLE
This feud is about as messy and public as they come.
The entire world watched Meghan Markle fall out with her father, Thomas Markle, in the lead-up to her 2018 wedding to husband Prince Harry.
Meghan has used a Netflix series to disclose her side of the story, while her father has given multiple interviews and set up numerous paparazzi photos in a bid to plead his case.
SOLANGE KNOWLES AND JAY-Z
If it wasn’t for CCTV footage, the world likely would never have known about the fallout between Beyonce’s little sister and her husband, Jay Z.
Following the 2014 Met Gala, security footage shows Solange attacking Jay-Z in the elevator of an after-party.
While both issued a statement claiming to have moved on from the stoush, many believe 37-year-old Solange simply snapped after learning of Jay-Z’s infidelity.
PRINCE WILLIAM AND PRINCE HARRY
There’s endless conjecture about what went wrong between Prince William and Prince Harry.
However, two things are clear: their relationship began to break down when Harry met Meghan; and it doesn’t look like they will be reconciling anytime soon.
