Fashion publicist Roxy, 28, instructed police not to pursue an assault charge laid against her younger sister Ruby, 18, in the Downing Centre Local Court today.

The glamorous sisters drew the wrong sort of attention to themselves after Ruby allegedly punched Roxy twice in the face at Kings Cross nightclub, The Piano Bar, on April 23.

A police report lodged by Roxy claimed Ruby turned up uninvited to a PR function she was hosting at the club and objected to being asked to leave.

Roxy also asked police to withdraw an Apprehended Violence Order lodged against Ruby after the incident, saying she now felt "safe'' around her sister.

But relations between the pair clearly remained frosty.

With their long blonde hair, designer outfits and black heels, they could easily pass for twins, however the two didn't acknowledge each other and sat at opposite ends of the court room.

Outside court, Ruby, who is studying for her HSC at Bondi's Reddam House school, said she and Roxy had "never got along.''

"The relationship will never be repaired,'' she said.

Her lawyer, Daniel Hakim, said the public feud had split the prominent eastern suburbs family "down the middle.''

"Ruby is living with her mother and their father has taken Roxy's side,'' he said.

Adding to the family's troubles, it is understood the girls' mother, Doreen, is undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Roxy said the whole incident had been "very distressing'' and declined to comment further.
