American TikTok star turned music sensation, Natalie Jane, has faced her share of online criticism, but she can’t imagine life without social media.
With over nine million TikTok followers, the 20-year-old known for her viral carpark singing videos first began posting her music at just 13 years old.
Never imagining it would turn into a full-time career, Jane now finds herself at the forefront of the music scene.
“I’ve always wanted to pursue music and be an artist, once I started to see my socials grow I was like wow this is how I can achieve that dream,” Jane told Confidential.
Despite the occasional hate comments, Jane can’t imagine a world without social media.
“Honestly it sucks when people are mean to you but you just have to realise that there is ten times more love than there is hate. At the end of the day I’m still selling tickets and doing a tour. I just pay attention to people that make me happy.
“You learn so much about the world through it. I find new artists to listen to, discover what to watch on TV. Honestly, I don’t know what I’d do without it.”
Originally from New Jersey and now living in Los Angeles, Jane expressed how frightening the current situation is, as hundreds of thousands lose their homes and lives to the devastating fires.
“It’s actually very scary, luckily and knock on where I live should be fine but I have friends and producers whose houses were affected, it’s really sad and really devastating to see.”
Currently down under for her debut Australian tour, Jane is “loving every moment” and is looking forward to bringing more music into the new year.
“I’m obsessed with it here, it’s so beautiful and I want to come back as soon as I can,” Jane said.
