The 44-year-old was in Aspen on his honeymoon when Channel 9 ruthlessly announced it had axed his position on the breakfast show.
He and partner Jasmine Yarbrough were married in Mexico less than a fortnight ago.

Stefanovic walked out the main exit of customs at Sydney Airport, with Yarbrough and his 13-year-old daughter a few metres behind him as they made their way to a nearby car.
“It’s Christmas, I’m home with my family, I’ve got a lot to be thankful for,” he told The Daily Telegraph.
Upon exiting, the trio piled into a waiting car.
It’s been a turbulent week for Nine who ousted Stefanovic’s younger brother Peter from the network completely on Tuesday, barely 24 hours before Karl was dropped from his Today show hosting role that’s he’s held for 14 years.
The Daily Telegraph understands other members of the Today line-up including Sylvia Jeffries, Richard Wilkins and Tim Gilbert, are also set to be shuffled.
Today the Telegraph also revealed that co-host Georgie Gardner was instrumental in Karl’s axing having pushed management to make the decision this week.
Nine disregarded the claims as “utter garbage,” although sources say Gardner has been furious with Stefanovic for several months.
