They have been dating for more than two years and Sophie Monk has revealed her hopes of starting a family with boyfriend Joshua Gross.
The former Bardot singer, 40, had her eggs frozen two years ago and she now plans on undergoing embryo freezing.
“We both want a family so he’s all for it,” Monk said during a webinar with Monash IVF on Wednesday.
Medical supply executive Gross, 41, added: “I’m very supportive”.
Monk said freezing her eggs has alleviated some of the pressure she has felt with aging.
“I did it obviously because I want a family,” she said.
“I didn’t do embryos [but] I’d do embryos now. I didn’t have the right partner, now I do and I’d like to do that. I’d love to try and have one.
“It’s just peace of mind me knowing that it’s there, it’s taken enormous pressure off me. You’ve got to have the right partner. In the future I’d like to do [embryo freezing].”
The couple first met on a flight from Europe to Australia in 2018, months after Monk’s public split from Bachelorette winner Stu Laundy.
She said she has always dreamed of becoming a mother but that her busy lifestyle has not made it possible yet which led her to freeze her eggs.
“You always think ‘oh it’ll happen’ and you’ll meet the right person. So I never really worried about it and I kind of hit 30 and I was like ‘yeah I’m still cool’ and then I blinked and I was nearly 40 and I was like ‘oh God’ before you know it time’s gone,” she said.
“You know how society says your clock is ticking, so I thought I’d better... I’ve always thought I’d have a family but I think because of business and different scenarios, I lived overseas for a long time for 10 years and also finding the right partner. I wanted peace of mind and to take pressure off myself.”
The TV host has often referred to Gross, who is divorced, as being “the one” and she has shared her hopes of marriage.
“If we did get married, it would be on the Gold Coast in my back garden ... just with family,” she previously told The Daily Telegraph.
However the relationship has reportedly not been without drama, following rumours that Gross is part of the reason that Monk had a falling out with her mother Sandi and sister Lucy.
“Like all families there are disagreements ... I’m sure everything will work out in time,” Monk said in July.
