Today show co-host Allison Langdon and entertainment reporter Brooke Boney are in home isolation after testing positive for Covid-19 on Monday.
Langdon’s co-host Karl Stefanovic made the announcement on-air on Tuesday morning after the pair were noticeably absent from the show, with 60 Minutes reporter Sarah Abo and entertainment editor Richard Wilkins filling in for them.
“Sarah is in for Ally this morning after testing positive for Covid. Brooke has also gone down with Covid,’ Stefanovic said.
“Both are in isolation and we will see them some time next week, as well as half the behind-the-scenes people at the Today show who have come down with Covid as well.”
Langdon and Boney were among guests at the Wharf4Ward annual charity event at Woolloomooloo Wharf on Thursday.
A Channel Nine spokesman said Langdon and Boney tested positive after appearing on Monday’s show and that staff at the Network’s North Sydney headquarters will continue to be monitored for Covid symptoms.
“Both Ally and Brooke tested positive to Covid on Monday.
“They are both now isolating for seven days and will return back on air once they are clear and feeling better.
“Regular testing and observing any symptoms of those who have come into contact with them will continue,” he said.
It comes after Today Extra’s Sylvia Jeffreys had a Covid scare last week after attending the Australia Unites appeal telethon in Sydney last Saturday.
However Jeffreys has since tested negative for the virus.
