SOPHIE Monk has wrapped her first week filming and says she is totally out of her comfort zone as Australia’s new Bachelorette star.
“This is different from anything I’ve ever done before,” Monk told Confidential.
“I’m so out of my comfort zone. This is not a reality show, it’s real life. I’m facing a lot of my fears and learning a lot about myself. This is the most bizarre and fun experience I’ve ever had.”
The singer, television presenter, actor and radio host has long been unlucky in love. Her former partners have included Hollywood actor Sam Worthington, American singer Benji Madden and footballer Eric Grothe Jr.
On The Bachelorette more than 15 single blokes are vying for her attention with the hope of winning the 37-year-old’s heart.
Monk went on a number of dates with potential suitors this week, including a picnic at Spotless Stadium and another in the Royal National Park near Cronulla.
She shot her first rose ceremony on Thursday, sending at least one of the hopefuls packing from the Sydney mansion they are calling home during the production.
“I’m nervous and excited for the road ahead,” Monk said.
“I’ve already met some awesome guys and I can’t wait to see what happens.”
The Channel 10 reality show will air later this year following the upcoming season of The Bachelor starring Matty Johnson.
