WHEN it comes to romantic date venues, an empty football stadium doesn’t usually spring straight to mind.

But new Bachelorette Sophie Monk was this week busy filming the Channel 10 series at Olympic Park’s Spotless Stadium — on a date with one of her many suitors.

Monk, 37, and her mystery man were snapped under a specially constructed floral arch on the pitch, and looked to be deep in conversation, surrounded by crew.

The Warner Brothers-produced series has long had a reputation for extravagant and opulent dates, with previous series seeing Sam Frost and Georgia Love take potential suitors on private jets to Canberra Zoo and helicopters to Perisher.

Monk, the world’s first celebrity Bachelorette, recently confessed to The Daily Telegraph she would like a man who is a bit of a bogan — just like her.

“I’d love them to not want fame, just someone down to earth and sweet. Someone that really likes me for me,” she said.
