The radio ratings are in! Em Rusciano takes a big hit as 2GB dominates

SOME radio stations took a dive while others continued to dominate. Here is the latest list of the radio survey results, which could be surpising for loyal listeners.

2GB has maintained its domination of Sydney radio for the third ratings survey of 2017.

The station holds an 11.4 per cent share of the overall Sydney radio market, while breakfast king Alan Jones increased his audience by 0.3 of a percentage point to a whopping 13.8 per cent of that market.

Ray Hadley’s 9am show sits at the top of the board at 14.2 per cent.

The latest radio ratings come on the back of the official EMMA readership figures, which revealed the The Daily Telegraph has grown its readership by 3.7 per cent over the past year, with 1.029 million people now picking up the paper every day.

In the latest radio survey, SmoothFm continues its rise in the market, hot on 2GB’s heels with an overall audience share of 11.3 per cent, a jump of 1.4 percentage points.

In the all-important and much hyped breakfast slot, ABC Sydney is Jones’ closest rival with a 10.6 per cent share, a rise of one percentage point, followed by SmoothFM’s Bogart Torelli at 8.9 per cent, an increase of 1.6 percentage points.

Fitzy and Wippa at Nova 96.9 dropped 0.4 of a percentage point to a share of 6.9 per cent while ailing 2DayFM breakfast with Emelia Rusciano took a big hit by dropping from 4.1 per cent of the market to 3.1 per cent.

In the drive afternoon shift, Nova’s Kate Ritchie, Tim Blackwell and Marty Sheargold rose 0.4 of a percentage point to a leading 10.5 per cent share.
