SYDNEY is set to Dance with Somebody, with The Bodyguard Musical coming to town next April.
Based on the 1992 film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, the musical production of The Bodyguard premiered at London’s West End in 2012 and has gone on to enjoy runs in The Netherlands and Germany.
John Frost, whose production credits also include Wicked, Annie and The Sound Of Music, said that he and co-producers Michael Harrison and David Ian were excited to bring the musical to his native Australia.
“I’m thrilled that Australia will finally get to see this sensational, multimillion-dollar musical,” he said.
“When David Ian approached me in 2012 to co-produce the world premiere in London, I jumped at the chance to be involved.
“This iconic story and those soaring ballads were itching to be made into a stage musical, and its success over the past four years has proved it,” he added.
