Only days after his identity was revealed, Channel 10’s new star of The Bachelor has been busted on his first single date of the show.
Astrophysicist Matt Agnew was papped without his glasses accompanied by a beautiful brunette.
The pair looked giddy as they were filmed exiting a helicopter and walking down a strip of red carpet in what appeared to be a grassy field.
While the helicopter ride is basically a rite of passage for The Bachelor, the show has mixed up their recent formula of selecting a celebrity or previous contestant for the main role by choosing the 31-year-old unknown rocket man.
Last year Bachelor Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins outraged audiences by choosing neither of the final two ladies, Brittany Hockley and Sophie Tieman.
The year before Sophie Monk smashed ratings with her fresh take on the leading lady role, however her off-screen relationship with winner and millionaire publican Stu Laundy was short lived.
After Channel 10 choosing a Bachelor and Bachelorette with a profile two seasons in a row, viewers were screaming out for a regular person to feature on their screens; hence the decision to cast hunky geek Agnew.
Filming is currently ongoing for The Bachelor.
