A lot of people have side hustles, but not many lead to photographing Cardi B and her children.
That’s exactly what happened to Aussie transgender actor Daniielle Alexis, whose side hustle in photography, combined with her relationship with the American rapper, gave her the opportunity to snap some family photos.
“I fell into the blessing of taking the photos of Cardi B because my best friend is her make-up artist,” Alexis told Confidential.
“It was evident straight away I have a natural ability in photography.”
Photography was her first love in high school, but Alexis put it on pause to chase her acting dreams.
“As you can imagine, I took some bomb-a** photos and the team reposted them on their social media.
“She is just so kind, so attentive and so real.”
The photo shoot made headlines around the world, as it was the first time the rapper revealed her youngest child, Blossom.
“Cardi was so inviting, and to be around her whole family … it was so intimate and amazing,” Alexis said.
“Shooting children is not easy but we just had fun in the moment and really sunk into the preciousness of it all.
“It’s really iconic and major. People can say what they want to say, but this is a pinch-me moment and I’m so proud of myself.
“I am a trans woman and we are a minority group — and I’m out here in Hollywood doing things people told me I could never do, that I’d never amount to anything.
“It’s really just the beginning. My goal for now is to be on Cardi’s books.”
The WAP rapper unveiled the first glimpse of her 9-month-old daughter, sharing Alexis’photos of the baby girl decked out in Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami’s iconic cherry blossom collection during a backyard shoot with siblings Kulture, 6, and Wave, 3 — all of whom she shares with Migos member Offset.
The Grammy winner is currently in the midst of a bitter legal battle with Offset, from whom she filed for divorce in July 2024 after seven years of marriage. Cardi claims the 33-year-old (real name Kiari Cephus) has not been pulling his weight when it comes to caring for their children.
