Sydney to star in next season of Selling Sunset, Oppenheim brothers holidaying in Australia
Celebrity SoCal real estate brothers Jason and Brett Oppenheim have run into their Australia-based ex-girlfriends in Sydney, but there’s no bad blood despite the drama you see on TV.

Sydney will star in hit US real estate reality show Selling Sunset, with brokerage owners Jason and Brett Oppenheim, Jason’s new girlfriend Mary-Lou Nurk, and agent Chrishell Stause all holidaying Down Under.
“You’ll see Sydney in the show a little bit,” Jason tells Confidential, with his group in the middle of filming seasons six and seven.
“You have the best views of maybe any city in the world, between all the beaches and the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge and the bays, it’s unbelievable.”
In an accidental crossover, Oppenheim ran into Luxe Listings’ Rubinstein brothers on the Bondi to Bronte walk, who gave him the lay of the land.
But says he’s unlikely to set up a third outpost here (after spin-off show Selling the OC, and a new office in Cabo San Lucas) due to our ridiculous prices.
“We toured a couple of listings in the $15 million to $50 million dollar range. They’re expensive for what they are,” Oppenheim said.
“I was at my buddy’s place, which he said was AU$8m, that would’ve been worth 25-35 per cent less if it was in LA.
“You guys are anywhere between 20-50 per cent more expensive than us, depending on location. Even the condos. The Crown is selling apartments for $5000USD per square foot. We don’t have anything that hits that. Even our most expensive buildings are like US$3500 max.”
Oppenheim, 45, said he’s taken a luxury real estate tour of the city, from Double Bay, to Bondi, and Tamarama Beach: “That walk is epic by the way”.
There’s been plenty of downtime too, with his loved-up new girlfriend, a 25-year-old German model whom he met while holidaying in Mykonos.
“We’ve been going to the beaches like crazy. We sat right here (at the Park Hyatt hotel) and watched the New Year’s fireworks. We’ve done Totti’s, Icebergs, and about every good restaurant in town. And we went to The Island beach club yesterday, that was really fun.”
There’s no bad blood between the twin brothers and their exes, who have all caught up in Sydney over the past week.
Jason and Nurk had a double-date on Darling Harbour with his ex-girlfriend and employee Chrishell Stause, and her Aussie partner, musician G Flip.
Stause confirmed her relationship with G Flip, 28, during the Selling Sunset Season 5 reunion that aired in May 2022 — five months after she and Oppenheim split.
Running into Stause was “pure luck”, Oppenheim said. He was in Sephora, shopping with Nurk, when the cashier asked if they were all together. Stause had been in the store minutes earlier.
“So I texted her and she was close by, so we hung out and went shopping. Us all being in Australia at the same time was random.”
The Oppenheim Group boss’ twin brother, Brett Oppenheim, was also present for the group get-together. Stause, 41, joked that the latter sibling served as her “stylist” for the day.
The twins also caught up with Brett’s Aussie ex-girlfriend, model Tina Louise, and her new partner.
“We’re trying to get a taste of the real Sydney, outside of the touristy stuff,” Oppenheim said. “Although Brett really wants to pet a koala.”
Selling Sunset fans can expect more bust-ups than ever in the next season, he added, despite the departure of the series’ villain Christine Quinn.
“I thought there might be a reprieve from the drama, but not in the least. Arguably it’s the most dramatic season. Work conflicts got personal between some of the agents very unexpectedly.”
He added that office spats were never as big “before the TV show”.
“I think sometimes it gets amplified because people are enticed or encouraged to relitigate certain situations again for the show, so they aren’t able to die as quickly as they otherwise would.”
“I try to remove myself as much as possible these days. That’s worked well for me and my sanity.”
