A number of high society weddings have already taken place this year, however it was Lou Hay and Jake O’Neil’s nuptials which were tipped to take the cake.
And judging by the wedding images, it has done just that.
Two of Australia’s wealthiest families were officially joined on Thursday when heiress Lou Hay wed property developer Jake O’Neil.
Jake is the second eldest son of Denis and Charlotte O’Neil — multimillion-dollar superyacht broker and owner of the Rose Bay Marina, while Hay is the daughter of the late Donald Hay, who founded cleaning products manufacturer Hayco in 1983.
Blushing bride Hay was quick to change her surname on social media, calling herself Mrs Lou O’Neil on her Instagram site by Friday morning.
The social media influencer shared a number of stunning images online alongside the caption, ‘07.04.22’.
The lavish ceremony took place at the heritage-listed Carthona mansion in Darling Point, Sydney for immediate family and the bridal party, followed by dinner at Buon Ricordo – her late father’s favourite restaurant.
Hay’s sister Simmie Hay, sister-in-law Poppy O’Neil Tzaneros, Deborah Symond O’Neil, Alyce Tran, Caroline Tran, Hermione Underwood and India Banks were Hay’s bridesmaids.
The reception will take place on Saturday at Merivale’s Bert’s restaurant on Sydney’s northern beaches.
Only 100 of the couple’s close friends and family will attend.
The couple became engaged last year in September.
